Riu Just Opened Its Newest All-Inclusive in Jamaica

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - May 6, 2024

The history, the culture, the lagoon. The seaside town of Falmouth on Jamaica’s northern coast has been one of the island’s most popular destinations in recent years, drawing both a major cruise port and a growing collection of new resorts as part of what is becoming “greater” Montego Bay

Now, Falmouth has another new addition: the Riu Aquarelle, a 700-room retreat that just began welcoming its first guests this week, the seventh resort for Riu Hotels and Resorts in Jamaica.

So what do you need to know about the new Riu?

The hotel has four pools.

The new resort, set on White Bay Beach, is a family-friendly Riu: that means a Splash Water World water park, buffet eateries, four pools and a children’s pool, too.

The rooms range from ocean-view suites to junior swim-up suites, with the latter having access to a private pool.

It’s a pretty standard Riu: think 24-hour all-inclusive, minimalist, comfortable rooms and a fun, laid-back all-inclusive vibe.

It’s also in a great location for exploring some of Jamaica’s most popular attractions, from the famous Cockpit Country nature reserve to the lush, exotic Martha Brae river.

What about the price?

Right now, Riu has special offers as low as $176 per person per night, for stays running from July 1 to Sept. 30, 2024, according to its Web site.
