New England is full of excursions during the summer months, and two local destinations are among the July places to visit worldwide, according to Travel + Leisure.

The travel publication released a list of the 15 best places to travel in July and included New Hampshire and Newport, R.I. Other spots on the list include Paris; Queensland, Australia; and Outer Banks, N.C.

With the White Mountains, Great North Woods, and Lakes Region, New Hampshire is full of summer excursions such as boating, swimming, hiking, camping, and fly fishing, the publication wrote. The Lakes Region has more than 270 bodies of water, including the popular Lake Winnipesaukee.

The seaside city of Newport is also bursting with summer fun, according to the publication.

“With opulent Gilded Age mansions and beautiful beaches, Newport is a lovely summer destination,” according to the publication. “Visitors and residents alike stroll along the scenic Cliff Walk, bike along Ocean Drive, browse farmers markets, and picnic on the beach.”

The Newport Classical Music Festival, a 55 year tradition, takes place July 4-21.
