Lagoon blurs past and future with 3 new rides and a saloon for 2025

FARMINGTON, Utah (ABC4) — Just in time for the 2025 season, the Lagoon Amusement Park in Farmington is introducing three new rides and a new saloon, they say “blurs the line between past and future.”
The new family area, called “The District,” is described as a steampunk-themed area where “world inventors are revered and their creations come alive with the hum of grinding gears and the hiss of steam.” Among those are three new family-oriented rides and a new saloon-style establishment called the Snakebite Saloon.
The first ride, called the “Time Tinker,” is described as a family-thrill ride that brings “high-flying excitement and mesmerizing motion.” In a press release, Lagoon officials said four interlocking arms rotate in fast, synchronized orbits that carry eight gondolas full of riders. The riders stay upright and secure with moments of “exhilarating airtime.”
Lagoon’s second new ride, “Steamworx,” reportedly puts a new twist on the classic Top Spin ride with no inversions. Steamworx will consist of eight seats on each side, back-to-back, which will be suspended in the air by two motor-driven arms. With every rotation, Lagoon Amusement Park says riders will be swept through a mix of sensations, brought to breathtaking heights and thrilling lows while staying completely upright.
Finally, a steampunk-inspired children’s helicopter ride called “Rivets and Rotors” will showcase eight carriers that can fit two riders each. The carriers, designed with riveted panels and polished metallic accents fitting for a steampunk-themed world, rotate in a circular motion while flying up and down. Riders can control the elevation of their carrier, reaching a maximum height of 15 feet.
“Discover gadgets, gizmos, and mechanical marvels that dare to launch you into the sky,” Lagoon officials said in a statement. “While everything here may run like clockwork and soar like steam – it’s time to expect the unexpected.”
The District and all three of its new rides are expected to open this Memorial Day weekend. There is currently a promotion with the code “SmmrKickOff” where you can save $13 on a regular single-day passport when you buy two or more. The promotion is valid May 24-26.
“We can’t wait for everyone to come experience it,” Julie Freed, the director of special events at Lagoon, said. “…What’s exciting about this new area is we’ve got something for everybody, for every age group.”
